Hi All:

Today we are finishing our series of common-sense
Business Tips that will help you improve your
bottom line. We will look at Part 2 of
Sales. So far we have discussed Security, a
two-part Accounting and
Administration, Technology and a
two-part Operations series. We do hope you
have found these tips beneficial. We welcome any
other ideas you may have and would like to share.

List member Pam Danziger has an early report on
"Strong Christmas 2006 Holiday Shopping Season
Shaping Up." Looks like we may be having a
prosperous holiday season. What do you think?

Have you ever wondered what agreement or form to
use in your business? Check out our Standard
Agreements, which have been developed over the years and work very well.

Now, let's get to everything for the retailer.

Sincerely

  [3] Business Tips - Sales
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We have had a series of common-sense business
tips that will help you improve the bottom
line. So far we discussed Security, a two-part
Accounting and Administration, Technology and a
three-part Operations series. Today let's look at Part 2 of Sales:

o Consider Private Planes. It can be cheaper than commercial flights.
o Tax-Deductible Incentive Trips. Reward your
sales team and staff with tax-deductible travel prizes.
o Overseas Exchange Rates. When you're traveling
overseas, use the right cash exchange services.
o Free Famous Speakers. Get top-level, famous
names to speak at your event at no cost top you.
o The Best Times To Advertise. When should
retailers spend money on advertising? Here are
some general percentages of how much a retail ad
budget you should spend during each month...

... and much more. http://etailersdigest.com/etd/etd1011.htm#Tips...

to you. If you have any ideas on any of these tips, please let us know.

Total gift spending could top over $2,250 this
year — a 12 percent rise over average spending in 2005.

This year more gifters got an early start on
Christmas gift shopping. Some 25 percent of
gifters have spent on average $169 buying
Christmas gifts to date, that compares to only 20
percent who made early Christmas gift purchases last year.

Early Christmas shopping may well lead to more
gift purchases and spending. Some shoppers take
umbrage at retailers that put Christmas
merchandise out too early. But Christmas gift
shopping, like death and taxes, is inevitable.
People are thinking about gift choices earlier in
the season and the more they shop, the more they
will ultimately buy, despite their intentions to keep spending down.

Last year nearly 40 percent of gifters went over
their budget for holiday gift purchases. We
expect the same pattern to emerge this year.
