Hi All:
List member Alan J. Zell volunteers time for the local chapter
of SCORE Chapter 11 -- the volunteer arm of the US Small Business
Administration, which is a wonderful organization - both for
volunteers and for companies seeking help. He said that they are
always looking for business plan templates designed for "micro
businesses" as these are the type of clients they work with. He had
some questions concerning Smart Business & Marketing Plan, "Can one
do "what-if" scenarios with the financials? I ask this because all
the plans we have looked into, none make it easy to do."
The answer is, not that easily. It is not that common for smaller
businesses. However, using some ingenuity, you can do it here, and
even with a spreadsheet. For $49.95, you get what you get.
Today we continue with our series in Business Tips called "Customer
Service: The Real Solution Selling." Learn how to make customers
feel welcome and come back to your store.
Alan J. Zell has a question about POS software and needs some help
with what is available. Check it out in Member Posts.
Now, let's get to everything for the retailer.

[3] Business Tips - Customer Service: The Real Solution Selling
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What can you do in your store to satisfy customers and to make them
want to come back? Have you tried asking them what you can do? While
surveys may be a start, they are impersonal, and they slant the
customer's opinions to respond to what you think they need. Instead,
train your sales staff to ask the customer what they would like to
see. Then have the staff member record that information in your
computer system for analysis later. Numbers (surveys) are great for
statisticians but not for personal service.
When a sales associate is waiting on a customer they could say...

I have an e-mail client with a small hardware store. He says he has
10,000 items. I do not know if that is width of inventory or depth or
a combination of both.
He want to put in a POS system. In my investigation of POS systems
there are two things they do not do....
